Hi,
How to begin? Should I say, “It is with heavy hearts…” or “The light has dimmed…” or some other traditional intro? Does it matter? The news is still the same, and nothing can make it sound better.
Our dear, dear little Onyx is gone. We took her to the vet on Monday to have her put down. Onyx lost a battle with an aggressive cancer in less than one week. No, that’s not true. I’m sure Onyx had been battling for much longer, but we were only aware of her efforts since the prior Thursday. Onyx did this on her own, because that is what good dogs do.
Based on my previous experience with Dawn and Dusk, I know that I will never stop missing Onyx. She was my sweet baby, and I love her and her sister both. So I will go on missing her, and I will also go on making sure Opal knows that she is still loved.
On Sunday, we took Onyx and Opal to the countryside, ending up in Penacova. One last trip as a pack, seeing a new place, sniffing new scents, and enjoying the sunshine. Here are a few pictures.

Nola
And here is how Onyx would want you all to remember her.
Chris
