Hi,
Last weekend we took Opal to a dog park. She has been a bit sad, and we were hoping that playing with other dogs would help lift her spirits. However, even though Saturday was a beautiful sunny day, no other dogs were at the dog park when we arrived. Still, just being out and off-leash did the trick. Opal began sniffing around and soon was trotting around the enclosure. I believe she had a good time.

We started the day with the idea that we would head inland and up (shooting for ~ 900 meters above sea level) to see if we could find some snow for Opal. Our route took us through the town of Oliveira do Hospital, which has a dog park inside a people park, i.e., Parque de Caninos inside of Parque dos Marmelos (943V+XP Oliveira do Hospital). The people-park was pleasant. There are tons of picnic tables, which I assume will be shaded in summer. The trees had no leaves when we arrived at 2:30pm on March 7th, so the bright sunshine shone through (at a high of 55 degrees, the sun was very welcome). But I’m sure a month from now the shade will be appreciated.

We didn’t stay long. Although, in hindsight, we might as well have. We didn’t find snow. We saw snow on mountain tops, but we didn’t get to it. We should have left home earlier. By the time we made it to the mountains, the sun was setting. So, maybe next weekend?
