In Search of Christmas Lights

December 22, 2023

Hi,

We went to Bragança yesterday because we heard that they had some beautiful Christmas lights downtown. It was a two-hour drive, but as it was straight out the A4, it wasn’t difficult. Like taking an interstate highway all the way.

The lights were lovely, and the downtown area was really chill. And I am not just talking about the weather (2 degrees Celsius), it was not at all difficult to get around. There were people walking around and cars on the roads, but it was nothing like downtown Atlanta or even Savannah. It was lovely and easy to get around.

Tuesday, we took a drive out the Douro River. We started in Porto where the Ocean and the River met, and then drove East. This was not an interstate road, but it was fine. It twisted and turned along the river and the views were incredible. We didn’t go all the way to the vineyards further inland; that will be for another day. But we did stop and eat at an Italian restaurant on the river. That was delicious.
