We had to go into town to sign some papers, so we decided to pop over the Douro River into Vila Nova de Gaia to a park there (Jardim do Morrow). The park had good views over the river and across to Porto. Opal was not thrilled with walking on the Luís I Bridge (Pont Luís I) because the bridge was covered in metal sheeting, and she could not get good purchase on it. She slid a little while walking. Onyx had no trouble with the metal flooring. I’m not sure why their paws/claws reacted differently, but they did. So, we did not walk all along the bridge, but we managed to get a few pictures before backing off and returning to Jardim do Morrow.
Then we drove back into Porto and went to a park there (Jardim do Passeio Alegre) where we had views back to Vila Nova de Gaia. We also had views out to the Atlantic Ocean because the park is situated where the Douro River meets the ocean. Nice views, and a good walk for the dogs.
